Mr. Mower attended
Stanford University on an academic scholarship and graduated with
honors in 1972 with a degree in psychology. He attended law school
at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating in 1976.
He was a member of the UCLA Law Review and received the American
Jurisprudence Award in Labor Law.
Mr. Mower has
supervised and tried a large volume of cases in all the Southern
California branch Superior Courts and Federal Court. He specializes
in personal injury, professional liability and consumer class action
lawsuits, including employment related claims. He has obtained successful
verdicts and settlements involving automobile products liability,
premises liability and professional malpractice litigation. Mr.
Mower is a member of the California State Bar, Orange County Bar
Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Association
of Trial Lawyers of America. He has also lectured in the areas of
tort law, governmental liability, trial tactics and law and medicine.
Patrick
A. Carreon
Mr. Carreon
attended Harvard University where he lettered in Varsity Football
while also making Honor Roll. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Psychology in 1981. He attended law school at UCLA graduating
in 1984 as a member of the Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Honor Societies.
Over the past
22 years, Mr. Carreon has tried numerous cases in the federal and
superior courts of California and Arizona. As one of the founding
partners of MOWER CARREON AND DESAI LLP, he has specialized in labor,
anti-trust and unfair business practice class action litigation
on behalf of consumers, employees and investment shareholders. His
expertise additionally extends to multiparty and individual actions
in the areas of elder abuse, lender liability, premises and products
liability, medical and legal malpractice, toxic exposure and insurance
bad faith.
Mr. Carreon's
most recent accomplishments include a settlement of just under 13
Million dollars against Pacific Maritime Association for their failure
to appropriately compensate non-union longshoremen and consecutive
settlements totalling just over 7.6 Million dollars against E-trade
Financial for their failure to pay overtime to their loan producers.
Mr. Carreon
is currently a member of the State Bar of California, the Orange
County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America
and Consumer Attorneys of California. Mr. Carreon has lectured in
the areas of trial tactics, consumer fraud, and medical malpractice.
Aashish
Y. Desai
AASHISH Y. DESAI was
born in Chicago, Illinois in 1968 but was raised in Texas. Mr. Desai
received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of
Texas in Austin in 1991, and went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate
from The University of Houston Law Center in 1996. He was a W.W.
Watkins Advocacy Scholar, received the American Jurisprudence Book
Award in Contracts, and was a member of the elite mock trial and
moot court group, The Advocates.
For two years
he served as an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University School of
Law, teaching Legal Research and Writing (2004-2006). In 2005 --
and again in 2006 and 2007 -- Mr. Desai was selected by his peers
as a "Rising Star" in Class Action Litigation by Super
Lawyers Magazine B a comprehensive listing of 2.5% of the “Best
Young Lawyers in Southern California.”
Mr. Desai was previously
associated with a prominent defense firm in Orange county working
on professional liability, surety and complex business litigation.
As a name partner of Mower, Carreon & Desai, LLP he primarily
handles class and collective actions involving antitrust law, state
and federal wage and hour law, consumer fraud actions, nationwide
securities actions, lender liability matters, and unfair business
practices.

James
A. Burton
JAMES A. BURTON
was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. After attending the
University of Alabama from 1980 to 1982, where he was a member of
the nationally ranked men's intercollegiate swimming team, Mr. Burton
graduated from the University of Washington in 1985 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in political science and a minor in English. He
attended law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School
of Law, where he graduated in 1989 and was a published legislative
review analyst for the Pacific Law Journal.
As a member
of Mower, Carreon & Desai, and throughout his career practicing
in California and Washington, Mr. Burton has successfully litigated
a large volume of cases in the areas of insurance coverage and bad
faith, personal injury, professional malpractice, governmental tort
liability, federal civil rights claims, and consumer class and collective
actions involving unfair business practices and employment related
claims. Mr. Burton is licensed to practice before all state courts
in California and Washington, the U.S. District Courts for the Central
District of California and Western District of Washington, and the
U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the State
Bar of California, the Washington State Bar Association, the Orange
County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America
and Consumer Attorneys of California.
